Elementary Education

Topic: "What Works" for Elementary TESOL Education
Extras: Dinner: Fajitas, Chicken/Steak, served with green peppers, onions and tomatoes. Accompanied by tortillas, sour cream, pico de gallo and guacamole, Mexican rice, refried beans and soft drinks.
Cost: Members: $10.00 Non-Members: $15.00

The Elementary Interest Section had its spring event on April 17th. The event took place at La Palapas Too and was a great opportunity for the attendees to network and discuss instructional practices to benefit the learning of English language learners. The wealth of ideas shared include websites, student-created books, strategies to develop vocabulary, and ideas to support accurate grammar use. Thank you to all who attended for making this event so meaningful!

Secondary Education & Advocacy Happy Hour

Topic: The Effects of High Stakes Testing on ELL Students
Extras: Maryland TESOL will provide the appetizers. You provide the expertise about high stakes testing. Together, we will develop an official Maryland TESOL position on this issue.
