Maryland TESOL is an affiliate of TESOL, an international organization of professionals interested in the teaching of English to speakers of others languages.

What Maryland TESOL Offers You

An Annual Conference gives members an opportunity to meet with colleagues and attend
sessions dealing with a variety of aspects of teaching English to speakers of other languages.

Workshops and Interest Section Meetings are designed to keep members up-to-date with
current research and methodology.

The Maryland TESOL Newsletter is published three times a year with information about
upcoming events, teaching tips, employment news, book reviews, and articles about subjects of
interest to area teachers.

Interest Sections give members an opportunity to meet with others in their area of interest:
Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Higher Education, Adult Education, Program
Administration and Teacher Education.

The Maryland TESOL Directory lists members' contact information and updated information
on English as a Second Language Programs, Professional Preparation Programs and ESOL
Community Resources.

The online Job Bank helps match potential employers with members seeking employment.

The Advocacy Committee keeps members aware of TESOL related advocacy issues and suggests
actions when appropriate.

Professional Growth: Maryland TESOL provides many opportunities for members to share their
knowledge and expertise. Members are encouraged to give a workshop, publish in the Newsletter,
or serve on a committee.
