Maryland TESOL is a non-profit association
for anyone who is interested in the education of speakers of other languages.
Maryland TESOL is an affiliate of TESOL,
an international organization of professionals interested in the teaching
of English to speakers of others languages.
What Maryland TESOL Offers
You
An Annual Conference gives members an opportunity
to meet with colleagues and attend
sessions dealing with a variety of aspects of teaching English to speakers
of other languages.
Workshops and Interest Section Meetings are designed
to keep members up-to-date with
current research and methodology.
The Maryland TESOL Newsletter is published three times
a year with information about
upcoming events, teaching tips, employment news, book reviews, and articles
about subjects of
interest to area teachers.
Interest Sections give members an opportunity to meet
with others in their area of interest:
Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Higher Education, Adult Education,
Program
Administration and Teacher Education.
The Maryland TESOL Directory lists members' contact information
and updated information
on English as a Second Language Programs, Professional Preparation Programs
and ESOL
Community Resources.
The online Job Bank helps match potential employers with
members seeking employment.
The Advocacy Committee keeps members aware of TESOL related
advocacy issues and suggests
actions when appropriate.
Professional Growth: Maryland TESOL provides many opportunities
for members to share their
knowledge and expertise. Members are encouraged to give a workshop, publish
in the Newsletter,
or serve on a committee.

To apply for membership in Maryland TESOL, please complete the
registration form (pdf) or Registration
Form (Word Doc) and mail it to the address on the form.

____ Volunteer/Full-time Student * $15

* Student and volunteer applicants must include a letter from institution
or a document verifying current full-time enrollment. A volunteer is defined
as a person who teaches ESOL classes without monetary compensation.
** WATESOL members may attend at the same rate as MD TESOL members. Please
send verification of current membership.
