Maryland TESOL is a non-profit association
for anyone who is interested in the education of speakers of other languages.
Maryland TESOL is an affiliate of TESOL,
an international organization of professionals interested in the teaching
of English to speakers of others languages.
What Maryland TESOL Offers
You
- An Annual Conference gives members
an opportunity to meet with colleagues and attend sessions dealing with
a variety of aspects of teaching English to speakers of other languages.
- Workshops and Interest Section Meetings
are designed to keep members up-to-date with current research and methodology.
- The Maryland TESOL Newsletter
is published three times a year with information about upcoming events,
teaching tips, employment news, book reviews, and articles about subjects
of interest to area teachers.
- Interest Sections give members
an opportunity to meet with others in their area of interest: Elementary
Education, Secondary Education, Higher Education, Adult Education, Program
Administration and Teacher Education.
- The online Job Bank helps match
potential employers with members seeking employment.
- The Advocacy Committee keeps
members aware of TESOL related advocacy issues and suggests actions
when appropriate.
- Professional Growth: Maryland
TESOL provides many opportunities for members to share their knowledge
and expertise. Members are encouraged to give a workshop, publish in
the Newsletter, or serve on a committee.
